6 Ways to Organize absolutely Everything in your Life

You may be feeling overwhelmed with how things are going in your life.. perhaps you  are a little stressed, amirite? Usually when we feel this way.. things get a little wonky. Home isn't so sweet when it's a mess. We need to fix this problem, by learning how to organize and STAY organized. This can make your life run smoothly. Who doesn't want this? So, get your pen and paper and perhaps a snack and we'll get started!

1. PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR!

We need to decide exactly when all of this organizing is going to take place. If you don't plan a time and a day.. let's face it; It will never happen. That my friend is called procrastination and we all have it deep down inside of us. (Mine just shows more than others!) Make your goals do-able. No one wants to organize their whole life in an hour or two - It's impossible to say the least. Make sure you focus on one room at a time! Heck, let's make it easier.. let's focus on one task at a time. Make it easy for yourself and don't make it overwhelming!

2. THROW IT OUT!

Throw out the things you don't need. I know.. this is hard for me too. Advice.. if you haven't worn it in over a year, chances are you won't even miss it. This can be rewarding, I promise! We're secretly making room for more shopping - Shhh. No one has to know. In all seriousness start with designating piles.

Keep, Throw away, and Donate!

Donating can be your chance to give back to the community! So it's a win-win. You may decide to give your old jacket to a friend. That's okay too! Keep the things you love and cherish. Don't get rid of anything you'll regret later.

Are you still writing this down? I've got more. If you are organizing your smaller spaces, like your desk or office space. Get rid of those old pens and markers that don't work, it's common sense but sometimes we just forget and leave them laying around. If you haven't already, go out and buy a pencil holder and cute baskets! This is a great way to organize all of your things and it also adds to your office décor. Maybe decide on a accent color for your office space!

We all dread our closets. It's like a never ending nightmare. I personally would not recommend jerking everything you own out of your closet. It will clutter your working space and it will definitely overwhelm you! I've done this, and I will never do it again. Have a day just to work on your closet space. As mentioned before, designate a time and day to tackle the areas in your home that need help. Make sure to get rid of anything that may have holes, or is just worn out. But, don't throw away all of your comfy clothes in the process.

Now it's time to organize that kitchen of yours. Tupperware is a woman's worst nightmare, can be hard to find matching lids and maybe it's got that tint of stained spaghetti staring at you. BUT, I say.. trash the bad and un-matched ones and start fresh! Get a tote and store them that way. If you get rid of stuff that is in your way, you are definitely going to be in a better mood. You'll be able to focus and think clearly.

Don't stop now! Keep going, you are already this far and it probably looks great. You are going to feel so much better in the end.

3. JUST IMAGINE!

What is it like to have your home decluttered? It's awesome, amirite? Be sure to get extra shelves for your things (if you heart desires) and start by "re-decorating" if you will. When I mean re-decorate, this means.. think about how everything is going to fit back into place with a clean, nice and fresh look. Be sure not to clutter again, use baskets, folders or even plastic drawers. I'm sure you can look on your Pinterest for some great storage ideas!

4. CATEGORIZE!

If you are the type to categorize, more power to you! This could benefit you in the long run. Place items that are "alike" together. Like.. jackets, jeans, and tops. This may be the perfect opportunity to switch out your winter or summer clothes (whatever the season may be). This will help you stay organized, and will definitely help if you are late for something! It will be easier to just grab and go.

Are you tired yet? Organizing and decluttering is a very long process. Almost seems as if it will never end. It's okay! Just pick back up tomorrow. THIS is why I said, to do one task at a time and to not jerk all of your clothes out and place them on the floor. It can again.. be overwhelming. Especially if you have clothes all over your bedroom floor and that comfy bed - that's calling your name by now. Just pick up where you left off.

5. DON'T REPEAT THE CYCLE

Please, what ever you do.. don't repeat the cycle. Don't just place things willy-nilly. They have to have a place. Junk.. goes in the junk drawer (you're not playing me, we all have a junk drawer!) Shoes go in the shoe rack, and your mail.. well it needs to have a specific place as well. Don't shove things in random places just because you can't find a spot elsewhere.

6. MAKE IT A HABIT

I have habits, and you probably do too. When I come in after a long day.. my keys go on the shelf, my purse goes on a table and my jacket goes on a rack. Those are places I KNOW where all of my things will be. It's easy and it just takes two seconds, and.. If you're in a rush they will be easy to find. Get a routine going and be sure to follow it. It won't take long for you to adjust, I promise.

MY THOUGHTS

I truly believe that if you have a clean, uncluttered home.. it helps your mental health. You can relax and unwind after a long day. Light your favorite candle or fire up your favorite diffuser and relax. A clean and organized home to me places a huge role in my mood. Besides, after you organized your home.. you'll most likely will never let it get that bad again. Make it a habit, follow the routine you've set in place and be happy with your new organized lifestyle.
